Are You Rosé-Ready for Summer?

Nothing quite says summertime like rosé. If you’re already pining for warmer days, we invite you to join us at The Spiced Pear on April 17th for the continuation of our popular “Tasting Series”. Enjoy a presentation by M.S. Walker Sales Manager Mike Lester on the rich history of the celebrated M.S. Walker brand, along with some palate-pleasing pink wine to go along with it.

From Syrups to Spirits

Nearly a century ago in Boston’s South End, Maurice S. Walker saw an opportunity and seized it. With the 1933 repeal of Prohibition, the entrepreneur expanded his pharmaceuticals and flavorings, extracts and syrups business into the now-ripe realm of alcoholic beverages. The rest, as they say, is history.

Since relocating to Somerville, Massachusetts, the M.S. Walker brand has grown to become one of Massachusetts’ most comprehensive, continuous spirits producers -- due in no small part to the combination of prime positioning during the 1960s “wine boom” and increasingly innovative marketing every step of the way. Five generations later, Maurice Walker’s legacy is still going strong with the multigenerational company claiming top three status among Massachusetts wholesalers, as well as a far-reaching regional brokerage network.

The Pleasure of Pink

While M.S. Walker is known for its extensive wine portfolio, our April 17th event will center around refreshing rosés. After all, we can think of no better way to fete the impending arrival of warmer weather than with an exquisite multi-course meal accompanied by selections from M.S. Walker’s vibrant rosé wines guided by our guest speaker, Michael Lester.

We may not be able to guarantee the sensation of sun on your face this April 17th, but this event promises to deliver the next best thing. Because while orange may be the new black, pink wine is and always will be the sweet taste of summer.
