Now in its 11th year, the Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival has been taking East Coast society by storm for more than a decade. This year’s event kicks off on Thursday with the incredible Bordeaux Dinner at The Elms. Led by Bordeaux expert and wine educator Robin Kelley O’Connor, the evening will take guests on a journey of exquisite Bordeaux wines and a French-inspired menu created by James Beard Award-winning Chef Frank McClelland of L’Espalier in Boston.

The festivities continue throughout the weekend with a near-endless lineup of experiences and flavors to savor. These include Friday night’s Wine & Rosecliff Gala; two days of Grand Tastings; cooking demonstrations and celebrity chef appearances; educational seminars on everything from “Flight of the Oyster” to “Champagne & Caviar” and new events, "The Vintner Dinner -- Women in Whites" at Rosecliff, Sunday Jazz Brunch on the Marble House Terrace, and Newport After Dark at Forty 1º North.

While the Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival is always a standout, 2016 promises to be the best one yet. Why? Because the Spiced Pear takes an exciting seat at the table this year as our very own chef Thomas Duffy will be a special guest.

Even better? It's all for an amazing cause. Where else can you sample hundreds of wines from around the globe and the finest local, regional and national cuisine -- all to benefit the historic conservation and restoration mission of The Preservation Society of Newport County?

It’s not for nothing that The Wine Observer deemed the Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival, “the best wine festival in the country,” while Boston Foodie declared it to be, “Our favorite food and wine celebration of the year.” Everyone who’s anyone makes the Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival part of their posh plans for September. Will you be mingling in their midst?
