Al fresco dining season has finally returned! Boasting breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop, The Cliff Walk Terrace is the quintessential place to enjoy a meal enveloped by all of Newport's natural beauty. The evening breeze adds to this sensory awakening experience even more. Take in the cooling wind off the water as the waves crash onto the shore at Easton's Beach just below. The true definition of calmness is redefined.

There is a reason why travelers to Newport continue to return to The Terrace each summer. The scenery is not the only aspect that makes dining on The Terrace special. The Cliff Walk Terrace is open from 12:00 p.m. to  4:00 p.m. daily, weather permitting. Later on in the summer, the terrace will open at 12:00 p.m. and remain opened until closing at 10:00 p.m. Diners are encouraged to embrace delectable options consisting of smaller food plates infused with local flavor and ingenious creativity. Chef Thomas Duffy's Citrus Poached Shrimp with blood mary cocktail sauce is a great choice to start. Or perhaps Alaskan King Crab is more suited for you?  You can also indulge in a classic lobster roll or fish taco which will take your preconceived thoughts on al fresco dining to a whole new level.

Guests are encouraged to fully embrace the feel of summer in a seaside town. This means dress is casual, which offers a new take on dining for guests accustomed to The Chanler's fine dining restaurant, The Spiced Pear.

If you are a nature lover, The Cliff Walk Terrace offers another reason to be excited. The various trees and flowers around the property are in full bloom during this time of year. Not only is there the sight of the ocean to marvel at in one direction but nature's wonderful artwork is on full display on the grounds of The Chanler. There are endless numbers of plants for everyone to marvel at.
